Divers find debris from midair collision

Investigators hope to discover what caused two airplanes to collide over California.

Divers searching the San Francisco Bay have found the fuselage of a plane that crashed over the weekend after a midair collision.

A salvage operation is set for Wednesday.

Authorities say the two small planes collided when one pilot tried a passing maneuver and then heard a thump.

He was able to land eventually, but saw the other plane going down.

That pilot has not been recovered.
