On Saturday evening, September 21, 2013, at approximately 8:00p.m., Tulsa County Sheriff Office investigators arrested one of their own, Detention Officer Cory Jones.
On Thursday, September 19, 2013, while conducting a routine security check at the David L Moss Criminal Justice Center, a Detention Officer located a cell phone in a hidden area inside one of the housing units.
Investigators initiated an investigation to determine how the cell phone got into the controlled portion of the facility.
This investigation led to the arrest of Detention Officer Cory Jones who was booked into David L. Moss on numerous charges including carrying contraband, weapons, drugs into a jail.
Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office employees receive regular training in addition to the basic detention officer academy training about the laws governing these types of acts.
The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office stresses to all of its employees that if anyone is caught in violation of the law committing any unethical act they will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
