Tulsa, Okla. - Update: An Oklahoma City couple was indicted on Friday in Tulsa federal court for sex trafficking.
Court records show Ronald Spivey and Kimberly Haven are accused of trying to recruit and prostitute children under the age of 17.
The couple was arrested in a Tulsa police sting back in July after they tried to recruit who they thought was a teen off a website.
Original story: A man thinks he has found a girl for human trafficking on the popular website Backpage.com.
Instead, he was talking to an undercover officer.
Tulsa police say Ronald Spivey contacted their fake account back on July 25th. He invited the female (cop) to go with him to other states to make money. Spivey even said he was okay with her only being 17-years-old.
Police say the two sides talked back and forth for days.
Then, a meeting was scheduled on Tuesday at a McDonalds near Admiral and Memorial. Spivey was going to take the teen down to Dallas.
Police say two unmarked cars were waiting at the McDonalds and when Spivey and an unknown woman arrived, they were both taken into custody.
Spivey is currently in the Tulsa County Jail. He faces a count of human trafficking.
The unknown woman turned out to be Kimberly Haven. She's also currently at the Tulsa County Jail and faces one count of human trafficking.
