While President Obama licks his wounds over the failure of gun control legislation, Congressman Markwayne Mullin said Saturday that he knew the bill would not reach the House.
"The American people spoke loud and said 'we don't want more gun control we have enough gun control.' Let's quit punishing people who are doing things right and let's go after the bad guys."
"There are more people injured by blunt objects; there are more people killed by blunt objects every year than there are by guns. But for some reason this got put on the Presiden't s plate and he feels like it's his personal responsiblity to try limiting us, the American people of or guns and our gun rights."
Mullin believes that the President doesn't really understand the issue.
"I think it's really because he doesn't understand guns. What we need to do is start doing a better job- those that are pro-gun- do a better job on educating those that don't understand guns."
Senate Democrats have vowed to revisit the issue later this year.
