Competition this weekend looking for America's next Top Gerbil

Really, we’re not kidding. Gerbil families across America are getting their furry little pets ready for the biggest weekend of the year.
It’s the American Gerbil Society’s annual pageant and the small rodents are coming from all over the nation to compete for the title.
The competition includes an obstacle course while judges watch and do assessments.
Libby Hanna is the president of the American Gerbil Society "a male gerbil should be a good, strong, hefty-looking gerbil."
Hanna went on "you might think of a football player—somebody who's big, thick neck, nice, strong-looking male gerbil."
There is also an ideal for female gerbils. "I usually use a figure skater as my mental image or gymnasts," Hanna said.

One part said "It's very fun, easy, and affordable and something you can do with your kids."
