The man killed was one of the most hunted drug lords in the world and he died at the hand of a clown.
The official police report said it like this. "A person dressed as a clown took his life."
OK, an assassin dressed as a clown but it’s still pretty creepy.
Francisco Rafael Arellano Felix was the head of the Tijuana Cartel, a group known for their cruel and violent measures.
He was at a child’s birthday party when one of the clowns inched closer to him and then opened fire at point blank range.
"Two bullets, one in the thorax and one in the head," The New York Post reported.
There were seven brothers in Felix’s family, all are said to be a part of the cartel at various times. Three of the brothers are in jail and one is already dead.
Francisco Rafael was the oldest and was said to be in charge at the time of his death.
Mexican police are looking for the killer and two others they think helped him set up the crime.
No word on how he was able to escape wearing those big red, floppy shoes.
