KRMG spoke with Congressman Jim Bridenstine shortly after it was announced the HHS facilities at Ft. Sill will close Friday.
Bridenstine told KRMG the change is good for the US military.
“This is important for readiness; it’s important for getting those barracks prepared for soldiers that are going to be receiving their training at those facilities.” Bridenstine said.
Some of the kids that were being housed there will be taken to other illegal families in the US.
“Sending them to other illegal aliens in our country is absolutely the wrong move.” The congressman added.
Bridenstine says there’s no way to tell the history of the people who will care for those children, so it could be very dangerous to place them there.
The Oklahoma congressman says he still wants answers from President Obama as to whether this is a permanent solution or just a temporary one.
