It might sound like a "bird-brained" idea, but CHICKENS, of all things, could have the secret for repairing hearing-loss in humans.
Scientists have known for awhile that chickens, unlike humans, can regrow important cells in the inner ear that are destroyed by loud sounds.
And now for the first time, they think they've figured out how it happens.
It has something to do with two molecules called Bmp7 and retinoic acid.
And they think they'll be able to duplicate the process in humans and reverse hearing-loss.
