Chicken blood stains long stretch of highway

A trucker was carrying a load of chicken blood from Leflore County, Oklahoma, earlier this week when the driver had a leak.

A faulty valve poured the waste for 20 miles on U.S. Highway 71 near Greenwood, Arkansas.

Drivers say the road stinks and they want it cleaned up.

Other drivers say they have so much chicken waste on their cars that they don’t even want to pull into their driveway.

The Arkansas highway department says a truck, owned by MKJ trucking of Springfield, Missouri, leaked the animal product while hauling it to a Danville pet food plant.

Friday company leaders got together to try to figure out how to get the road cleaned.

The chief of the trucking company says he'll pay for car washes.

The blood was from a Heavener, Oklahoma, poultry plant.
