A driver reached for her cell phone right before colliding with another vehicle in south Tulsa Wednesday night.
Tulsa Police Corporal Jerrod Hart tells us the driver who caused the accident had a 9-year old boy in the car with her when she struck an SUV near 61st and Peoria.
Hart said the boy "was wearing a seatbelt for sure. I'm not sure about the driver. She hit her mouth and was bleeding and kind of freaked (the boy) out a little bit but she just had a superficial cut on her lip."
The driver who was injured got a ticket for inattentive driving.
We're told the other driver was not hurt.
A child died recently in a crash on Highway 169 near Owasso.
The accident was blamed on the driver not paying attention while driving.
