Cars burglarized, suspects caught near Tulsa motel

Car burglars strike again in south Tulsa, but this time they're caught with the loot inside of their black SUV that police stopped near 31st and Memorial.

Tulsa Police Sergeant Darren Bristow says that "lying in plain view were some of the stolen check cards and other paperwork and other loot that was taken from some of the vehicles that were broken into."

Two suspects were arrested in a black SUV during a traffic stop just east of 31st and Memorial shortly after the burglaries were reported by witnesses who saw the vehicle leave the scene.

We're told that the cars were parked outside of the Extended Stay hotel at 7901 East 31st Court when they were burglarized at about 2:57 a.m. Wednesday.

Bristow tells us that there recently have been other car burglaries in the vicinity of 31st and Memorial.

"It spikes. We have several (cars) broken into over an extended period of time and then it dies off and we don't have quite as many, so it kind of comes and goes."
