Car thief has second thoughts after spotting three-year-old in back seat

It's a case of honor among thieves.

A car thief in Utah had second thoughts after spotting a three-year-old in the back seat.

Police in Salt Lake City report the owner had left the minivan running while she checked to make sure the front door of her home was locked.

Police Lieutenant Scott White tells KSL-TV 22-year-old Idaly Proano climbed into the van and drove away.

The mom ran to a neighbor's house to call 911.

Police say the suspect came back within moments, knocked on the door and safely returned the little girl.

Proano now faces felony theft and drug charges.

But authorities say it's unlikely she'll be charged with attempted kidnapping.
