Car burglary suspect caught in the act

A car burglar is caught red handed early Thursday morning with stolen items in his vehicle.

Tulsa police say 22-year-old Jacob Kyle Shelton's vehicle was spotted by officers just hours after stealing a guitar, money, and car keys from two vehicles.

Investigators were able to see surveillance video of the prior robberies and spotted a dark Suburban.  Police say an officer then spotted the vehicle around 12:30 a.m.

Shelton was seen looking into other vehicles and may have been about to commit another crime.  Police say they acted and confronted the suspect.

He was wearing the same red shirt seen in the surveillance video.

In addition to finding stolen items, officers also made a surprise recovery.  Police say they found a scale inside his vehicle with meth residue.

Shelton is currently at the Tulsa County Jail facing numerous counts.
