Gas prices surged almost 40 cents a gallon this week in California.
It's a shocking situation where prices in some cities are close to five dollars a gallon.
AAA projects prices in Oklahoma will go down, while they go up in California because of low supplies and refinery problems.
“There's a real possibility prices in California could eclipse the all time high which was $4.61 in 2008,” said Avery Ash with AAA.
The website Gasbuddy.Com says the average price of gasoline is about $3.61 a gallon right now here in Oklahoma.
