Burglary suspects busted Thursday also wanted for murder

Three schools went on lockdown late Thursday morning in east Tulsa after shots were fired during an apparent burglary attempt.

Tulsa police tell KRMG they found one of the suspects not long after the initial call, and arrested him.

A second suspect was found in a shed nearby and also placed under arrest.

The initial call came in about 11:30 a.m. in the 11800 block of E. 15th Place, northeast of 21st and Garnett.

Police quickly saturated the area, and asked TPS to lock down three nearby schools, E. Central Jr. High, E. Central HS, and Cooper Elementary.

None of the suspects ever made it on to school grounds.

The school lockdowns were lifted about 12:20 p.m.

After police took Chauncey Thomas and Kendall Wallace into custody, they discovered the suspects were wanted for murder.

The murder victim, Monte Foreman, was shot to death last month at the Studio 6 Motel near 41st and Memorial.
