Brookside Walmart robbed, teenage suspect arrested

A teenager is accused of robbing a Walmart Neighborhood Market with a knife.

We're told the 17-year old Hispanic male made three trips through the checkout stand purchasing candy before he presented a knife to the checker, took money and left on foot.

Police just a few minutes later spotted the suspect walking about a block from the store near 4300 South Owasso Avenue where he was arrested.

"From the time he left the store he had made it about two blocks,"  Tulsa Police Sergeant Gary Otterstrom said. "Apparently at somewhere around that location he was attempting to change his appearance by (changing) the overcoat and the hat that he was wearing at the time of the robbery."

We're told police recovered a similar amount of cash that was taken in the robbery and a knife that the suspect had in his possession at the scene.
Police plan to use the process of reverse certification to charge the 17-year old as an adult.
