Bridenstine visits Ft. Sill, says he got answers to some questions

Oklahoma Congressman Jim Bridenstine made his visit to a military facility where a federal agency is housing some 1,200 illegal immigrants, mostly children, and says he's happy with the treatment they're receiving, but he's not happy with the reasons he believes is behind the surge in unaccompanied children flooding across the southern border.

He tried to visit Ft. Sill July 1 to see the facility, operated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

But he was turned away, then later told he could visit but could ask no questions nor speak with staff.

That was not acceptable to him, and last week he sent a letter to HHS detailing whom he wanted available for questioning and demanding access to them.

He was joined Saturday by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn).

Bridenstine says the workers there are taking good care of the children, and they did answer questions about that process.

He has told KRMG several times that the problem is a direct result of the Obama administration's immigration policies.
