TULSA - The answer to Russian aggression is an economic one, according to US Congressman Jim Bridenstine of Oklahoma.
He says the main goal is to help the US and its allies become energy independent.
That means greatly increasing production of oil and natural gas in the United States.
"Look, if you control a nation's energy supply, you control the nation," he told KRMG Monday.
He added that what's going on in Ukraine is nothing new.
"Russian aggression is not new, it's been going on now for years. You've got the invasion of Georgia...10,000 Russian troops in Armenia, they've threatened nuclear war against Poland and the Czech Republic over a missile defense shield."
He also mentioned cutting off energy supplies to the Baltic states, offering asylum to Edward Snowden, helping the Syrian government against its own people, and helping Iran with its nuclear program.
He also discusses the missing Malaysian jet, cuts in defense, and his bill regarding weather forecasting and predicting tornadoes.
