Tulsa firefighters are on the scene right now of an explosion near 41st and Lewis.
The explosion occurred inside the homeearly this morning.
"There was an explosion I would say about 4:30 and it was very loud and solid, I thought maybe a transformer had blown" a neighbor told KRMG exclusively.
Firefighters on the scene are scratching their heads when it comes to the cause. "I struggle to look back in my memory to find something" one told us. He continued "every now and then in this business you run across some pretty strange things that don't always add up so you call the investigators."
He finished by saying "Between them and PD (Tulsa police) they'll get it figured out."
The explosion happened in a bathroom of the residence and was strong enough to cause major damage to one wall.
Cops and fire were both asked if this was a meth lab, they say they can find nothing that would indicate that. More importantly, investigators say meth lab explosions typically cause heavy fire damage. In this case there is almost no signs of fire damage at all.
Fire investigators and Tulsa Police are still on the scene to look into the situation.
TFD says there were three people inside at the time of the explosion, but only one was hurt. A man was brought out on a stretcher and transported to the hospital.
