It seemed like an “average” day at the morgue until workers got close to the body bag that held Walter Williams.
Instead of the everyday, run of the mill corpse, they got one big shock.
Walter was very much living.
The coroner in Jackson, Mississippi calls it a “miracle” that Walter is alive.
Holmes County Coroner Dexter Howard took the call to go to William’s home this week after family members phoned saying he had died.
Howard checked and found Walter didn’t have a pulse, and didn’t appear to be breathing. He was pronounced dead just after 9:00 PM Wednesday night, and the normal procedure began.
William’s was placed in a body bag and was taken to the Porter and Sons Funeral Home.
Workers there were about to begin embalming Williams when he started kicking from inside the bag.
Workers were shocked, scared, and amazed.
They quickly called William’s family who rushed to the hospital to meet him.
Doctors say they think the culprit is Walter’s pacemaker.
They believe it stopped working for a short time and started again once he was in the bag.
William’s family says he told them he doesn't realy care, he’s just thrilled to still be alive.
