TULSA - The winter blast has had a dire effect on blood drives across the state of Oklahoma.
To try and make up some lost ground, Oklahoma Blood Institute plans a blood drive for Saturday, Dec. 7.
Deon Smith, Exec. Dir. of OBI, tells KRMG "over the past four days, we've pretty much had all blood drives canceled across the state, and we're approaching very critical levels."
He calls it an "emergency appeal," and hopes people will turn out to help save lives.
The blood drive will be at the Tulsa Promenade Mall, 41st and Yale, from noon until 6:00 p.m.
Donors will receive their choice of an OU or OSU Bedlam t-shirt, as well as snacks and beverages.
You'll find the OBI blood drive near the children's play area at the mall.
