Betty Shelby returns to court before Crutcher case goes to trial

TULSA, Ok — The final hearing is to finalize jury questions and any additional motions before the trial begins next month.

Shelby was also in court last Friday for a discovery hearing  where  the state and defense argued over witnesses and evidence.  At that time, the judge ruled some testimony regarding her training would not be admissible in trial.

The defense also filed more witness lists, including Police Chief Chuck Jordan and former Mayor Dewey Bartlett.  Shelby shot and killed Terence Crutcher in 2016, she claims the shooting was in self-defense.

Shelby's trial begins May 8.
