Berryhill home invasion victim made it up

The man who says he was robbed at gunpoint in his Berryhill home early Thursday admits he lied.

"The gun that I fired, I wasn't truthful, that was my gun, well it was a friend of my gun," David Wayne Shaw told FOX23 News Friday.

Captain Bill McKelvey with the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says, "We have discovered there are a lot of inconsistencies with his story."

Captain McKelvey says Shaw is a known drug user and that was likely a factor. “A home invasion did not take place,” McKelvey says.

Falsely reporting a crime is also a crime. McKelvey says Shaw currently isn't being charged but that will ultimately be up to the district attorney.
