Bedlam basketball heats up Norman Saturday

Oklahoma State travels to Norman, Okla., this weekend for the 223rd edition of Bedlam on the hardwood. The game is scheduled for 2 pm inside the Lloyd Noble Center, and the game will be televised by ESPN2, with Jon Sciambi handling the play-by-play duties and Fran Fraschilla providing expert analysis.

These two teams have split the last three regular-season series, with the home team winning each contest. About Oklahoma State Oklahoma State is 11-3 overall this season and 1-1 in Big 12 Conference action following a 63-45 win over TCU. OU is led by senior forward Romero Osby who is averaging 13.2 points and 6.5 rebounds. Fellow senior Steven Pledger, a guard, is chipping in 11.5 points and grabbing 3.1 boards per contest.

As a team, Oklahoma has a +2.3 turnover margin and is outrebounding its opponents by 2.2 boards per game. The Sooners’ losses are to ninth-ranked Gonzaga on a neutral court, at Arkansas and to Stephen F. Austin at home. OU is coached by Lon Kruger, in his second season with the Sooners and his 27th season overall. He has a 504-323 record in stints at UTEP, Kansas State, Florida, Illinois, UNLV and now Oklahoma.
