Bail revoked for serial sex offender in Rogers County

A Rogers County man with multiple convictions for lewd molestation who was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender got released on bail that same day earlier this month, but thanks to a deputy's work, he's now back behind bars.

August 12, a deputy arrested Jimmy Robert Weeks, 53, for failure to register and for living within 2,000 feet of a school.

The judge granted him bail, Sheriff Scott Walton tells KRMG, because "on the regional reports, there was information lacking on that."

The Rogers County DA tried in May to have Weeks' parole revoked, but didn't have enough probable cause.

That led Deputy Adam Hull to work with an ADA to get a warrant and make an arrest, so there'd be probable cause for the revokation.

After Weeks' release, Walton says, they worked to straighten out the paperwork and get Weeks back into court.

This week, their efforts paid off when a judge revoked Weeks' bond and ordered him held until his preliminary hearing, now scheduled for September 10th.

Weeks prior convictions include:

  • Sex offenses against a child, 1983
  • Lewd/indecent proposals/acts to a child 1985
  • Lewd molestation 1999
  • Lewd molestation 2007
  • Sex offender living with 2,000 feet of a school or child care facility 2007
