Aunt now charged with murder after girls die in apartment fire

The aunt of two young girls who died in a south Tulsa apartment fire is now charged with 2nd degree murder.

Investigators tell KRMG that Miashah Moses left 18-month-old Nylah and 4-year-old Noni Moses alone in the apartment while there was food cooking on the stove.

While she was gone for up to 15 minutes, the food caught fire. That fire spread which, investigators believe, killed the girls.

Police originally arrested Moses on a complaint of child neglect.

The Moses family tells FOX23 they do not think Miashah Moses should be charged for the deaths.
