American - USAirways merger won't have a large impact on travelers in and out of Tulsa

The proposed American Airlines-US Airways merger has been put on hold for a few days.

KRMG asked travel expert Tom Parsons with BestFares.com what the merger means for Tulsa travelers.

Parsons says no airline dominates the Tulsa market which translates into competition for low fares. Parsons says, "Everybody's got to be competitive so whatever the lowest guy is in own, you better believe the other guys are offering the same airfare."

Parsons believes jet fuel prices will have a bigger impact than the proposed merger. Parsons says, "I'm sure folks in Tulsa, when they fill up their gas tanks, they feel the pinch. Well, so do the airlines."
