American flag vanishes on Memorial Day at Owasso park

A concerned listener and military veteran contacted KRMG on Memorial Day about Veteran’s Memorial Park in Owasso.

The listener had gone out to the park and discovered it was flagless.

We contacted a representative of the Owasso VFW and learned that the City of Owasso is responsible for the placement of the large flag at 116^th Street North between Mingo and Garnett Road.

After posting the story on the  www.KRMG.com, a spokesman with OPD called to say several flags all over Owasso had been stolen.

Officers aren't sure that's what happened the the flag at the park.

Crews were able to get another flag up about an hour after it was reported missing.
