Alcohol vending machines becoming popular at work

One company went so far as to put in a beer vending machine and employees admit, it’s pretty popular.

There are some rules about the machine. Employees are not allowed to use it until the building is empty of clients and the day is nearly over.

Boston advertising agency Arnold Worldwide says the machine encourages workers to hang around at work after hours rather than head to a bar.

Arnold Worldwide is not a small business. The company handles clients like McDonald's, Progressive Insurance, and New Balance.

Businesses say the policy attracts better and more creative talent and has helped them recruit from other companies that don’t provide similar services.

Legal counsel around the country warns there are multiple risks involved. They point out the possibility of liability for drunk driving or sexual harassment issues. There is also concern about offending those who don’t drink for religious reasons.
