Air Force quietly removes drone info from public website

The information on drones and they strikes they carry out in Afghanistan has been publicly available for months.

But the Air Force eliminated the reports and removed past updates with no explanations.

Capt. Kim Bender said the information was originally made public to “provide more detailed information on RPA ops in Afghanistan.”

But the same release in March had blank spaces where the data would be and previous results had been deleted as well.

Some believe the recent scrutiny of drones and the demands of assurances that drones not be used in the US by  Sen. Rand Paul had something to do with the removal.

Others note the timing of the removal is the same as the confirmation of John Brennan as CIA head.

A Pentagon spokesman said he had no idea why the info had been removed and the Air Force has made no comment.
