Go ahead and be pessimistic, you’ll live longer

The study was conducted over a ten year period and the results surprised almost everyone. Researchers found overly perky and optimistic people had at higher risk for a greater risk of disability and death over the next ten years.

The actual numbers show that those who were certain they would be happy had a 9.5 per cent increase in reporting disabilities, and a ten per cent high risk of death.

It’s believed the reason has to do with how pessimistic people live. “Pessimism about the future may encourage people to live more carefully, taking health and safety precautions" scientists noted.

Others argue that many studies say there are a lot of findings that say being positive is a good thing.
