Tom Shadyac has made millions directing movies, but now he’s giving up his lavish lifestyle and mansion for a mobile home.
Shadyac is best known for films like Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Nutty Professor, Patch Adams and Bruce Almighty.
He was involved in a bicycle accident in 2007, and developed a condition that makes him very sensitive to lights and sounds.
His condition has changed his outlook on life, and now he wishes to live a simpler life.
Shadyac moved out of his 17,000-square-foot mansion in Pasadena, Calif. and into a mobile home park in Malibu.
Not only did he ditch the giant house, he also sold his private jet and mostly gets around on a bicycle now.
Shadyac now gives most of his money away to charities and has opened a homeless shelter.
He’s making a new movie now, his first in seven years, and is only taking the minimum compensation… about $200,000.
