TULSA, Okla. - The abandoned grocery store at 11th and Denver downtown reopened today, not as a grocery store, but as a library.
Tulsa Library CEO Gary Shaffer tells KRMG that the temporary facility has several purposes. Shaffer says, "It's really a testing lab for us to test out the latest in library technology, library service models and everything like that."
The temporary library will be open for about two years while the main library downtown closes for a massive renovation.
The new, temporary facility is being called The Librarium.
