2007 ice storm - 10 years later

The ice storm of 2007 that devastated so much of Oklahoma started on this date 10 years ago.

Hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses lost power. Many wouldn’t have electricity turned back on for two weeks or more.

Thousands of people stayed in shelters in the days and weeks that followed.

Power companies traveled from all around the country to help restore electricity.
