The man was leaving the Walgreen’s at 71st and Lewis Thursday morning with a few prescriptions when he pulled into traffic heading north on Lewis. The driver dropped his medicine and when he leaned over to pick it up, things went poorly.
“When he looked back up he realized he was running a red light” Tulsa cops told KRMG news. But it didn't end there. The man then hit another car “he hits her and then he said he just couldn’t stop” police explained.
The man barreled across the intersection and ran over a sign as he went over the curb losing parts of his car along the way.
“You see the debris over there, that’s where he came into the Schlotzky’s parking lot” police continued.
Then the officer turned and pointed at the back end of the Kia and finished “that’s where he ended up and then the Fire department had to call out the rescue team to pull him out.”
Both drivers were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, the store says they will remain open but slightly drafty.
Tulsa police confirmed to KRMG the weather had nothing to do with the wreck.
