The fight involved student from the University of Oregon, including football players and it was caught on video.
The group was in volved in a snowball fight for the ages when a small car tried to drive through the area.
That car was driven by a retired Oregon professor named Sherwin Simmons who found himself in a “live fire” area.
The students began to bombard the car with snowballs and then piled snow into the hood and trunk area.
In a matter of moments there was no way to see out of th4e car so Simmons opened the door to get out.
That’s when things got even more carried away as a young man dumped a tub of snow into the car and onto Simmons.
University officials released the following statement.
"Police hope to determine the identities of those who were throwing snowballs, whether they are UO students and whether their actions constitute a criminal act. The University of Oregon takes the conduct of its students seriously. Consequences are clear for those whose actions reflect poorly upon the university or violate its standards for student behavior."
Not all players were involved. One Twitter message from offensive lineman Andre Yruretagoyena apologized.
“Embarrassed by the video I just watched. That's not all of us, sending the sincerest apologies," he said.
