David Lee Mangum told police he just couldn’t handle rejection.
That’s why he didn’t tell his 300 sexual partners over the past ten years that he was HIV positive.
Mangum may have infected as many as 60 men in Stoddard County, Missouri where he has lived the past several years.
Cops say Mangum admitted his wrongdoing in an interview after he was arrested.
The Daily Statesman reports one of Mangum’s former sexual partners who identified himself as DB alerted them after he, found out when he was called by an old roommate of the man.
The roommate told DB he needed to be tested. He did exactly that and the results showed he is now HIV positive as well.
The Los Angeles Times reports Mangum "never disclosed he had HIV to any of his sexual partners in Stoddard County."
His reason for not telling anyone about his illness was his "fear of rejection."
Magnum will be arraigned this morning and he could get life in prison.
