"Legal and Institutional Aspects of the Work of the International Monetary Fund in the Wake of the Financial Crisis" Andrew Giddings is Of Counsel with the International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC, where he is responsible for legal issues involving the IMF's relations with multiple member countries including conditions of membership, financing arrangements and surveillance-related obligations.  In addition, he is a member of legal working groups providing advice on issues involving sovereign debt, IMF governance, the uses of the main account of the IMF, the IMF's financial structure and household and corporate insolvency.  Prior to joining the IMF he was an associate with Shearman & Sterling, LLP, in New York, focusing on international financial transactions, international litigation and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations. He also served as a clerk to the Chief Justice of the Alaska Supreme Court from 2005-2006.
