Community Talks are interactive, educational talks on cultural issues of our day, open to all teen girls, young ladies and the women who work with and care about them. February is National Dating Violence Awareness Month, so please join us as we start a discussion on this needed topic. Too many of our high school and college aged girls experience some sort of dating abuse, whether it be emotional, verbal or physical. As we get this subject out in the open, we will help girls and women to know the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships, how to recognize early warning signs of abuse, and how to get out when necessary. A woman will share her real life experience, resources will be given for continued learning, and at 8:00pm the Lifetime movie "Reviving Ophelia" will be shown. This movie is a fictional story on this topic, and is a great conversation starter for girls and moms. All females ages 13 and up are welcome!
