Leadership Through LegislationTuesday, Jan. 15 | 5:30-7:30 p.m. Harwelden Mansion | 2210 S. Main St. Free to attend | RSVP RequiredJoin the Government Relations Crew for a lesson in advocacy - ensuring that we can amplify our voice when we're rallying behind a change or backing legislation. Attendees will partner with representatives to actually craft messaging on different topics. The process will teach how to craft a message in a way that matters to the legislators and also get constructive feedback from legislators about why certain issues trump others. Legislators attending this event include: Arts & Culture: Representative Ron Peters (R)Education: Senator Jabar Shumate (D)Transportation: Senator Gary Stanislawski (R)  Health Care: Representative Jeannie McDaniel (D)The event will teach general advocacy lessons to take to the TYPros Day at the Capitol event. YPs who have participated in GRC events with representatives before have noted how much their comfort level is increased by having a feeling of familiarity with a legislator, even if it’s with ONE legislator. Please join us for an event that promises to teach you something new that, if put to use, could literally make a difference state-wide.   Appetizers and drinks will be provided.
