Time : 7-9:30pm Location : Philbrook Museum of Art Love is an appropriate subject for Valentines Day, but sometimes love takes us places we dont quite expect. Such is the case with this concert: three musical works offer three different ideas of love. Leo Janek based his Second String Quartet on the deep but platonic relationship he carried on with a younger woman over the course of some 700 letters. Nickys Trio, by Carter Pann, was inspired by the composers imaginative young nephew; the composer himself will be on hand to discuss his piano trio at the concert. Rounding out the evening is Arnold Schoenbergs Transfigured Night, a lush and romantic string sextet that accompanies Richard Dehmels expressionist poem on the transformative power of love. Address: 2727 South Rockford Road Days/Hours: Thursday, February 14 at 7:00 pm Admission: $20, $15 Senior, $5 Student
